Your child's first visit, step by step
Five small things happen, in this order, with you in the room. Nothing starts until your child has heard what it is.
-
Hello at the door
We greet your child by name, then you.

-
Ride the chair
The chair goes up, down and back like a slow ride.
5 minutes
-
Count the teeth
A tiny mirror counts every tooth out loud.

-
Polish and rinse
A soft spinning brush and strawberry polish clean the teeth.

Pick a prize and make a plan
The dentist tells you what we saw in plain words, and your child picks a small prize from the shelf.

What we do
Most families start with the first visit. The rest is here when you need it.
-
First visit and cleaning
A hello, a ride in the chair, a count of the teeth, a cleaning and a prize, at your child's pace and with you beside them the whole time.
-
Sealants and fluoride
A thin coating and a mineral varnish that help protect the back teeth, painted on in a few minutes.
-
Fillings and crowns
Repairs for cavities, explained to your child in their own words before anything begins.
-
Toothaches and tooth injuries
Call us first. We make room for pain and injuries as soon as the day allows.
Meet your dentists
Two pediatric dentists share the schedule. You will meet one of them at the first visit.

Questions parents ask us first
What ages do you see?
Babies with a first tooth, toddlers, school-age children and teens, until they turn 18.
Do you take our dental plan?
Tell us your plan when you book. We check your benefits before the visit, so you know what to expect before you arrive.
Can you help a child with dental anxiety or sensory needs?
Yes. Tell us what helps, such as a quiet room, sunglasses, an unflavored polish or extra time, and we plan the visit around it.
Where do we park?
There is street parking on Example Avenue NE and a small lot behind the building. Two spots by the back door are kept for families with strollers.
